Brian's Fourth Drawing Class - Rendering

Brian’s Fourth Drawing Class – Rendering

Today in Brian’s drawing session we learnt about rendering interior spaces. I used Kurecolour, Letraset and colour pencils. I layered colours to create different tones.  I began by drawing an interior space and then adding colour. Rendering helps add depth and descriptive elements to designs.

Our self-directed work was to produce a rendered interior space using a variety of different techniques and media we have looked at. The second part was to render an image that contained people and show volume is given to the rendered version simply by varying the density of one colour, layering different colours, and hatching using a pencil crayon. Both can be seen below.

I overlayed blue kurecolours in the pool to create depth and shadow. I used different tones and small lines on the wooden planks to make it look like wood.

I added white strokes and shadows to enhance the folds in their clothes. I also cross hatched and used darker tones on the front of her head and in the folds of their clothes to create a sense of light source and shadow
